Rebecca O’Brien Taylor – Principal
Rebecca O’Brien Taylor started her ballet journey under the influence of Mairead Langan. Her love for ballet began at just four years of age. Rebecca completed all her ballet and vocational examinations with Distinction over her 20 years dancing. During this time went on to complete her Ballet Teacher Training through the Royal Academy of Dance, London.
After qualifying as a Royal Academy of Dance teacher in 2011, she has since worked for one of the biggest ballet schools in Ireland for the past 14 years. She also spent many years abroad teaching in renowned ballet schools across the UAE and Australia before setting up her own inclusive ballet school.
Rebecca’s passion to bring the joy of ballet to children with additional needs, prompted her to continue her studies in the area of Childcare. Now with her Special Needs Qualification and her RAD Qualification in Ballet, she offers “Free 2 Be Me Dance” classes to children and young adults with additional needs.
In 2017 Rebecca started up her own ballet school. She is proud to be offering an inclusive ballet school for adults, children and children with additional needs here in Dublin.
Kate O’Brien – Adult Ballet Teacher
Kate O’Brien qualified as a Royal Academy of Dance Ballet Teacher in 2016 under the influence of Mairead Langan. She started dancing at just 2 years old and never looked back. At 5 Kate knew that’s what she wanted to do for the rest of her life. Kate danced all the away up to Solo Seal getting distinctions in all her ballet and vocational level examinations.
Kate preformed in many shows over her years dancing in the MPSD, which she played principal roles such as Cinderella and The Little Princess.
Kate has a great deal of experience teaching both children and adults since 2012 and is very excited to be joining the Dublin City Ballet School teaching team.
