Rebecca O’Brien Taylor
Rebecca O’Brien Taylor started her ballet journey under the influence of Mairead Langan, principal of the Metropolitan School of Dance. Her love for ballet began at just four years of age and she completed all her ballet examinations with Distinction over 20 years dancing in the school. During this time went on to complete her Ballet Teacher Training through the Royal Academy of Dance in London. After she qualified and registered as a Royal Academy of Dance teacher in 2011, she worked for the Metropolitan School of Dance and also spent many years abroad teaching in renowned ballet schools across the UAE and Australia. Whilst living in Australia she danced with local ballet companies and preformed in ballet shows such as Giselle, The Nutcracker and Swan Lake. Rebecca has also helped choreograph ballet shows for the Metropolitan School of Dance where she continues to teach children at present.
Rebecca’s passion to bring the joy of ballet to children with additional needs, prompted her to continue her studies in the area of Childcare. Now with her Special Needs Qualification and her RAD Qualification in Ballet, she offers “Free 2 Be Me Dance” classes to children and young adults with additional needs.
